Joel and I photographed this little session between Alex and Samantha. I had this idea to do an elopement shoot with a red little red sports car, a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier ballerina skirt (graciously loaned out by The White Dress) and a beautiful couple. In between the wonderful opportunity we have to photograph so many amazing weddings and planning our own nuptials for mid 2014, I sometimes feel overloaded with inspiration. While planning this one, I wanted to stay as true to my own aesthetic as possible, while adding a dash of bridal to it. Sometimes it’s so hard to know what you actually want, when you’re constantly bombarded by images of what you think you should want, right? The beautiful thing about weddings is that no two are alike, there is no right or wrong way to get married. If you want to mix couture with bateau, please do so! Anyway, I don’t want to prattle on, but there it is below.
This was also featured on Rock n’ Roll Bride, we’re very grateful Kat enjoyed it as much as we did! Thank you to our incredible vendors as well as Sam and Alex for being great sports! We really do have to thank the team we worked with on this one. Michelle is always game for our inspiration shoots, and in two flashes of a second delivers the most beautiful bouquets. Shannon is an expert make up artist, I especially love working with vendors that need little direction – she translated our vision perfectly and just ‘gets’ it! Also, if you’re shopping for a truly unique gown, please check out our friend Jasmine’s boutique – incredible selection of couture that never ceases to dazzle. And I’m rambling again. Enjoy the photos!
